Trigger-only credits per month, by interval
What the polling trigger alone uses in a 30-day month, before any module processes data. The 5-minute, hourly and daily figures are Make's own examples.
| Interval | Credits/month (trigger only) | Fits Free plan? |
|---|---|---|
| Every 1 min | 43,200 | No (min. 15 min) |
| Every 5 min | 8,640 | No (min. 15 min) |
| Every 10 min | 4,320 | No (min. 15 min) |
| Every 15 min | 2,880 | No (over 1,000) |
| Every 30 min | 1,440 | No (over 1,000) |
| Every 45 min | 960 | Yes |
| Every hour | 720 | Yes |
| Every 2 hours | 360 | Yes |
| Every 6 hours | 120 | Yes |
| Every 12 hours | 60 | Yes |
| Once a day | 30 | Yes |
The surprise for many Free-plan users: the shortest Free interval, 15 minutes, already needs about 2,880 credits a month, almost three times the Free plan's 1,000. On Free, a schedule fits from about every 45 minutes, or use a webhook.

Swap the schedule for a webhook
An instant trigger (webhook) runs only when data arrives, so you pay for real events, not empty checks. Two free Flowpaja templates do exactly that:
- Free: Webhook → Google Sheets with dedupe: instant trigger, tested at 3 credits per new row.
- Or build your own test request with the free Make webhook tester.
- Free: Lead capture → Sheets + Slack with dedupe.
Collecting leads with Google Forms? Lead Router Make template ($19 on Gumroad). It creates or updates each lead in HubSpot on an exact email match and posts it to Slack, with $10k+ budgets sent to #sales-hot.

FAQ
Does a Make polling trigger use credits when there is no new data?
Yes. Every scheduled check runs the trigger once and uses 1 credit, even when it finds nothing. Make's Help Center: every 5 minutes is 8,640 credits a month, every hour 720 and once a day 30, for the trigger alone.
Can I run a 15-minute schedule on Make's Free plan?
The Free plan allows a 15-minute minimum interval, but a 15-minute polling trigger alone uses about 2,880 credits in a 30-day month, more than the Free plan's 1,000. On Free, a trigger-only schedule fits from about every 45 minutes (960 credits).
How do I stop paying for empty checks?
Use an instant trigger (webhook) when the app supports it: the scenario runs only when data arrives, so there are no empty checks. Otherwise schedule less often, or deactivate test scenarios, as Make recommends.
