What Make's webhook answer means
Without a Webhook response module, Make answers every call right away with one of these (Make Help Center, checked 16 Oct 2026):

| 400 | Queue is full | The webhook queue is full. Also returned when the data fails the webhook's data structure validation. |
| 410 | Gone | The webhook was not connected to any scenario for more than 5 days (120 hours) and was deactivated. |
| 429 | Too many requests | Over the rate limit: up to 300 requests per 10 seconds. |
Getting the fields into Make
- Add Webhooks › Custom webhook as the first module, click Add, name it and save. Copy the URL.
- Paste it above and send the test request (button or curl).
- Make learns the data structure from that sample. Changed your fields later? Click Detect new values in the module and send the request again.
- Map the fields in the next modules. Keep the URL private, or add an API key (sent as
x-make-apikey).
Make accepts query strings, form data and JSON. If the same field arrives in the query string and in the body, the query string wins.

What does Make answer when a webhook request works?
Without a Webhook response module, Make answers HTTP 200 with the body "Accepted" when the request is put in the webhook queue. A full queue returns 400 "Queue is full" and too many requests return 429.
Why does my Make webhook return 410 Gone?
Make deactivates webhooks that have not been connected to any scenario for more than 5 days (120 hours). Such a hook returns 410 Gone. Connect the webhook to a scenario again or create a new one.
Why don't my fields show up for mapping in Make?
Make learns the data structure from a sample request. In the Custom webhook module click "Detect new values" and send the test request again; then map the new fields in the next modules.
Can I send JSON, form data or a query string?
Yes. Make's Custom webhook accepts query strings, form data and JSON. If a request has the same field in the query string and the body, the query string value wins.
How big can a webhook request be?
Make accepts payloads up to 5 MB (5,242,880 bytes) on every plan, and processes up to 300 webhook requests per 10 seconds.
