Free Make.com template · Google Sheets → Gmail drafts

One follow-up draft for every unanswered quote

Keep your sent quotes in a Google Sheet. Once a day, this template finds quotes that are a week old with no reply marked and puts one follow-up draft in your Gmail Drafts folder. It never sends email and never writes a second draft for the same quote. You decide whether to send it.

How setup works

Free download. No sign-up needed. You’ll need your own Make, Google Sheets and Gmail accounts. The free version works on its own and stays free.

One quote follow-up draft: example Gmail draft following up on quote Q-1041, not sent
Example draft from our test run (fictional data).

What it does

One small Make scenario with 3 modules. It runs in your own Make account with your own Google connections. Nothing runs through Flowpaja.

1 · Read

Reads your quotes list

Once a day it reads the Quotes tab: Quote ID, Client Name, Client Email, Project, Sent Date, Replied, Draft Created.

2 · Draft

One draft per quote

Only when Replied is not ticked, Draft Created is empty, there is an email and Sent Date is 7 to 13 days ago.

3 · Mark

Never a second draft

It writes today’s date into Draft Created, so the next run skips that quote.

What’s in the download

One zip (v1.0, 2 Oct 2026). Tested in Make with Run once on fictional data: 3 drafts for exactly the 3 due quotes (7 credits), 6 other rows skipped, and a second run made no new drafts.

  • Flowpaja_Quote_FollowUp_Draft_FREE_blueprint.jsonThe Make scenario. No connections, IDs or tokens inside. You connect your own Google and Gmail accounts.
  • SETUP_GUIDE.pdf2 pages: setup in 7 steps, what to expect from the test, limits and fixes for common problems.
  • Quote_FollowUp_Draft_EXAMPLE_sheet.xlsxThe quotes sheet with 6 fictional quotes. Sample dates are formulas, so the test works on any day.
  • Quotes_tab.csvThe same rows as CSV, plus a README.txt.

Setup in about 10 minutes

You need a Make.com account (the Free plan works) and a Google account with Sheets and Gmail. No Make account yet? Create a free Make account (affiliate).

Copy the sheet

Google Sheets › Blank spreadsheet › File › Import › upload the example .xlsx. Sent Date shown as yyyy-mm-dd, Replied as checkboxes.

Import the blueprint

In Make: Create a new scenario › ⋯ menu › Import Blueprint. Pick your sheet in modules 1 and 3.

Connect Gmail

In module 2, create a new Gmail connection from the draft module and edit the subject and text.

Test, then schedule

Click Run once: 2 drafts with the example rows, nothing sent. Then schedule it daily at about 09:00.

Limits

A free, deliberately simple template.

  • Drafts only. It never sends email. You read, edit and send each draft from Gmail.
  • Replies are marked by hand. It doesn’t read your inbox. Tick Replied when a client answers, or type anything in Draft Created to skip a quote.
  • Date format. Sent Date must be shown as yyyy-mm-dd. Rows with another format or an empty date are skipped without an error.
  • Make credits. 1 credit per daily run plus 2 per draft (draft and sheet update), so roughly 30–60 a month. It reads up to 200 rows.
  • Gmail re-authorization. Personal Gmail connections in Make need re-authorizing about every six months.

Want a full follow-up sequence?

Quote Follow-Up Assistant ($19) prepares drafts on day 3, 7 and 14 (you choose the days and texts), with a Status column (Open, Replied, Won, Closed, Paused), one draft at a time, a note per quote and error handling. It never sends by itself either.

FAQ

Can it send an email by mistake?
No. It only uses Gmail’s “Create a Draft” action. Nothing is sent until you press Send.
How does it know a client replied?
It doesn’t read your inbox. You tick the Replied checkbox, and that quote is skipped. The paid Quote Follow-Up Assistant also works without inbox access: you set its Status column to Replied.
Will it draft follow-ups for all my old quotes?
No. It only looks at quotes sent 7 to 13 days ago and skips anything older, so the first run is safe.
What if I don’t want a draft for a particular quote?
Type anything in its Draft Created cell, and the quote is skipped.
Is my data sent to Flowpaja?
No. The scenario runs in your own Make account with your own Google connections. The download contains no connections, IDs or tokens.
